A Michigan woman could be facing 10 years imprisonment after pleading guilty to stealing over $50,000 of charity money. The woman stole from charity bingo nights that she used to manage. The former chairwoman of the Fraternal Order of Eagles weekend bingo games was found to have been stealing money from pull tabs sales.

Late last year the Michigan Lottery Commission notified Fraternal Order of Eagles club leaders that it suspected the woman had been stealing from the pull-tabs. During the case against her Robin Lynn Palmer, 47, claimed that she only took the money due to “falling on hard times.” The conniving bingo boss was caught out when the Michigan Lottery Commission audited a batch of pull tabs to find the irregularity. The state knows the cost and pay out of each and every box of pull tabs from their serial numbers and anybody who sells pull tabs has to show sales records so it was only a matter of time before Palmer was found out.

After the theft came to light the club had to surrender their Friday and Saturday night bingo licenses which they didn’t get back for six month which cost them approximately $50,000 in lost sales to accompany the $53,168 which was stolen in the first place. Thankfully the $50,000 which was stolen was covered by insurance but the club will have to pursue the$50,000 for lost revenue from the thief herself.

Following the theft things are back to normal and the bingo games are back in full-swing at the Fraternal Order of Eagles weekend bingo nights.
